Mini John Cooper Works GP – 2006

The first generation of the John Cooper Works GP (known with the project code R53) is on the market in July 2006.

Compared to the Cooper S, from which it derives, it is lighter thanks to the elimination of the sofa and has a more precise structure that makes it impregnable between the curves, where it can also make use of the revised aerodynamics: the large rear wing stands out above all .

The engine is the 1.6 218 HP engine, supercharged by a volumetric compressor, while the manual gearbox uses the self-locking differential to improve traction between the front wheels.
